While we encourage our clients to keep their Enviro Data programs and database current, we realize that at times you may need to access a database you have not used in some time. Enviro Data has the abiltiy to open and update databases from one or two version back but sometimes, that involves using an intermediate version of Enviro Data. For example, Version 2010 can update a 2008 database, etc. (The version of the database can be determined by opening it directly in Access and viewing the Versions table.) This may also be true with Enviro Data 8. Geotech keep working copies of these older versions available in order to update your older databases and we would be happy to do this for you under your support. For more information on this see our FAQ on What are the steps to upgrade an Enviro Data database to a newer version?
However, over the years some Enviro Data tables have been moved between the Editor, Viewer and/or Settings files. If you receive an error mentioning a missing table or query after upgrading your older database, try opening it in the Viewer as this can update the Settings file and may fix those errors. If you still have problems, please contact support, letting us know the version of your database, program files, and include a screen shot of the error message. You may also need to send your database and Settings files if we request them.
